Hot Spring Spas, Smart Jet Water Diverter Valve Kit 2-Position - Watkins Part Number: 71494 Model Years: 1998-Current This 2-position (3 and 9 o'clock) Smart Jet Water Diverter Valve Kit is located under the Smart Jet lever on the top lip of the spa. Its purpose is to divert water to different jet combination's when you rotate the lever from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock. Replacement is necessary only if the valve lever becomes too difficult to turn, the handle breaks off the top of this valve or it begins leaking.
